Meta now sells a frontier model by the token
This is an opening, not a full signal yet. A new paid option exists. Real tasks have to prove it is worth switching.
Meta launched Muse Wonder on 12 October. It is available on the Meta Model API and in Muse Code. The price is $4 input and $20 output per million tokens.

Muse Wonder Full is the bigger model. It needs a Muse Code subscription. Meta says the regular Muse Wonder still gives comparable performance on a lot of tasks. Meta also claims top scores on coding benchmarks. Those numbers come from Meta.

My read: this is an opening, not a full signal yet. A new paid option exists. Real tasks have to prove it is worth switching.
Your pick: run Muse Wonder on 10 tasks from your own backlog. Compare cost and quality with whatever model you use now. Keep your code model-agnostic. Skip Full unless you already pay for the higher Muse Code plan.
12 months: Meta stays a serious API option for agents.
24 months: Meta’s pricing puts pressure on everyone else to lower agent costs.
36 months: model choice turns into a routing decision instead of a long-term vendor bet.
Why I may be wrong: the benchmarks may not match real work. Meta could also change the price or the access rules. Which model will you test it against first?
